2011-02-23	great dunmow .essex	gary cooper		Leyton War Memorial such a great site. Clapton Orient now Leyton Orient lost 3 players and many more players injured, in The Great War. The whole team and staff joined the war effort; the only team to do so in England. From Gary born in Leyton 1970
2011-03-18	Essex	Susan Horton		A lovely idea to help keep the memory alive of those who died in WW1. My grandad Pte. Charles Edward Halls joined 1st Royal Londons in 1917 whilst living in Leyton. He died in May that year in Flanders and his body like many others was not recovered. I have one photo of him taken in uniform just before he went away.

This is a wonderful idea and a tribute to all who served. Would love to hear from others who have discovered you by accident - and from anyone who has visited the war graves at le Treport - I feel a need to go there

My wife's Great Grandfather Sapper Jesse Griffiths is listed on this site and we would like to visit the memorial if his name is on it. We've been to France to visit his grave on several occasions.
